Democracy starts next door.
At the 2024 TED conference, Park City’s Teri Orr was invited to participate in a workshop, unpacking common and conflicting tenets of democracy. Participants represented global cultures and professions. What emerged was a desire to collaborate. Spirited conversations led to greater understanding. It’s crucial to how we view democracy, and how it works.
Drawing on that experience, we’ll explore how democracy functions in our own communities, where we can learn together how to have difficult and civil conversations.
It’s possible.
